Długopole-Zdrój · four stops and the stretches between them
Długopole-Zdrój: the pause is part of the way.
You walk — you get a sentence. You stop — you get the rest of the story, the sources and what we do not know. We do not give a walking time: the materials we have contain no measurement of the stretches between the places.
What am I doing now?
Stopping. The full story of each place: a sourced fact, what the materials record, rest status and the limits of knowledge. The stretches between fall quiet to a single line.
Stops expanded: 4 of 4
Without JavaScript everything is shown at once: the full story of the four stops and notes on the stretches between them. The “walking / stopping” switch works only with JavaScript.
- 1. Railway station 1882 · arrival and return I stop here
- 2. Spa Park avenues, colonnade I stop here
- 3. Spa House 1840 hall · pump room I stop here
- 4. Water intakes Renata, Kazimierz, Emilia I stop here
Schematic illustration, not a map. The width of the marks and the length of the lines do not denote distance or time. A block with two bars (pause) = an expanded stop; a small empty circle = a stop passed by; every dashed line = a stretch with no measurement (thin and pale when the stretch is muted; thicker and darker when it has a voice). No stretch here is a continuous, known road. After the fourth stop the story returns to the station. The order comes from the V2 story, not from a verified route.
Four stops in order
The same point, two amounts of story. In “walking” mode a stop gets one sentence and a note on uncertainty, and the stretches between places get the voice. In “stopping” mode it is the other way round. Each stop can also be expanded on its own.
Mode for all the stops below: walking / stopping

Stop 1 of 4
Railway station
According to the National Museum in Wrocław, the station of 1882 on the Wrocław–Międzylesie line is linked to the growth of a small Sudeten spa for visitors from farther afield.
No data Timetable and the way from the station: not checked. Source to be re-checked.
- What there was
- The National Museum in Wrocław links the growth of the resort to the Wrocław–Międzylesie line and the station at Długopole built in 1882. The railway is tied here to the accessibility of a small Sudeten spa for visitors from farther regions. Basis: monographic study by the National Museum in Wrocław (context of the 1882 station). Reference in the Sources section; needs re-checking.
- What the materials record
- The materials supplied contain neither a current timetable nor a description of the way from the station.
- Rest here
- Unconfirmed We do not point to a bench or any other seating at the station — no supplied material confirms it.
- Limits of knowledge
- No current rail timetable, no measurement of the gradient of the way from the station, no survey of lighting after dark.
Stretch 1 → 2 · length, surface, gradient: not measured
From the station to the park. We give no walking time: the supplied materials contain no measurement of this stretch, and the pace is yours. We do not know what the way is like, or whether there is a bench, shade or a barrier on the way — this has to be checked on the spot.

Stop 2 of 4
Spa Park
Park, colonnade and promenade halls — according to the museum study, a place for concerts, dances and simply being together.
No data Benches, shade, surface, length of the paths: not checked. Source to be re-checked.
- What there was
- The museum study mentions the park, colonnade and promenade halls, as well as concerts, open-air theatre, dances and rides. The green space organised leisure and meetings. Basis: history of the resort in the study by the National Museum in Wrocław. Reference in the Sources section; needs re-checking.
- What the materials record
- A photograph of 20 September 2025 (author: Jacek Halicki, Wikimedia Commons, CC BY-SA 4.0) documents the surviving park. It is not embedded here, because the page works without the internet — link in the Sources. The photograph does not establish the length of the paths, gradients, the number of benches or the walking time from the station.
- Rest here
- Unconfirmed We do not point to any bench. There is no field survey of benches or assessment of shade.
- Limits of knowledge
- No field survey of the number of benches, no measurement of surface firmness for wheeled use (prams, wheelchairs) and no assessment of shade on hot days.
Stretch 2 → 3 · length, surface, gradient: not measured
From the park to the Spa House. There is no data here on the relative positions or on the walking time, so we do not give one. If moving about tires you, resting places on the way have to be established on the spot or with someone who knows the area.

Stop 3 of 4
Spa House
The operator dates the first wooden promenade-hall building to 1840; today it describes the Spa House as a place with a pump room and café.
Not checked Pump room hours, toilets, price list, entrance. Operator’s description; V3 did not check it.
- What there was
- The operator dates the first wooden promenade-hall building to 1840 and links it with Julius Hancke. The later Spa House changed its function many times, serving spa guests as the centre of spa life. Basis: operator’s description, Uzdrowisko Lądek-Długopole; V2 recorded checking it on 7 October 2026. V3 did not open the source again.
- What the materials record
- The same description mentions a pump room and café after the 2009 modernisation. This is the manager’s description, without a field check of hours and entrance.
- Rest here
- Unconfirmed The supplied materials do not confirm seating at the entrance or inside. We do not point to any.
- Limits of knowledge
- No current confirmation of the pump room’s opening hours, toilet availability or the current drinks price list.
Stretch 3 → 4 · length, surface, gradient: not measured
From the pump room to the intakes. The supplied materials give neither the distance nor the relative position of these places. The order is the order of the V2 story, not a measured trail.

Stop 4 of 4
Water intakes
The museum describes the use of the water even before the resort’s growth in the first half of the 19th century; the operator names the springs Renata, Kazimierz and Emilia.
Not described Composition of the water and its effects: outside the scope of this page. Sources to be re-checked.
- Renata
- Kazimierz
- Emilia
- What there was
- The museum describes the use of the water before the resort’s growth in the first half of the 19th century. Bathhouses, a spa house and guesthouses came later. Basis: study by the National Museum in Wrocław. Reference in the Sources section; needs re-checking.
- What the materials record
- The operator’s description names Renata, Kazimierz and Emilia and a shared water intake (V2 recorded checking it on 7 October 2026). The names organise the history of the water infrastructure; the description does not confirm the current composition or any treatment recommendations here.
- Rest here
- Unconfirmed We do not point to any seating at the intakes.
- Limits of knowledge
- No modern chemical analysis of the water’s composition, no medical verification of therapeutic properties and no information on the continuity of flow. This page does not describe the water’s effect on health and is not medical advice.
Return 4 → 1 · length, surface, gradient: not measured
Back to the station. The timetable has not been checked, so the Atlas does not calculate a margin before the train or say how much time will “be enough”. Check current connections with the carrier.
What we know, what was assumed, what is missing
The kind of information is marked the same way at every stop. A lack of data is not a zero: it is an empty place in the materials.
- From the source’s description Station of 1882
- The National Museum in Wrocław links the growth of the resort to the Wrocław–Międzylesie line. Reference taken over from V2; to be re-checked.
- From the source’s description Hall of 1840, Hancke, 2009 modernisation
- Operator’s description. V2 recorded checking it on 7 October 2026; V3 did not open it again.
- From the source’s description Renata, Kazimierz, Emilia
- The names and the shared intake are given in the manager’s description; status as above.
- Story structure Order 1 → 4 and return
- Taken over from V2 as the order of the narrative. It is not a measured or verified route.
- No data Distances and walking time
- The Atlas has no measurement of the paths or the stretches. That is why there are no minutes, pace or percentages here.
- No data Benches, shade, surface, barriers
- They require a dated field check and conversations with people who walk more slowly. No bench is pointed out here.
- No data Timetable, pump room hours
- They are not in the supplied materials.
- Not described Water: composition and effects
- No modern analysis or medical verification. The page recommends nothing here.
Check for yourself before you set out (the Atlas has not checked this)
- the current train timetable and pump room hours,
- where the benches and shade actually are, and what the surface is like,
- whether the route suits your mobility — best to ask someone who knows the area,
- whether you have your own comfortable margin of time for this visit — we do not suggest a number.
What was removed from version V2, and why
Removed
- Sliders for time budget, pace (km/h) and breaks, and the distance field. The materials contain no measurement of the stretches, so any number of minutes would be invented.
- Bar showing the ratio of walking to resting. It turned a walk into a score; in its place is a “walking / stopping” switch.
- Margin before the train departs. The timetable is unchecked; replaced outright by a pointer to check it with the carrier.
- Notebook in the browser’s memory. Unnecessary for a guide; this page saves nothing.
- Photograph loaded from the internet. The page is meant to work offline; the photograph remains as a link.
Kept
- The four stops in the V2 order and their historical content with references.
- Dated “limits of knowledge” at every place.
- The distinction: from the source’s description, story structure, no data.
- Full text without interaction: without JavaScript everything is visible at once; the switch only changes the amount of text.
